Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Program
Prenatal alcohol exposure is a leading preventable cause of birth defects and neurodevelopmental abnormalities in the United States. It can cause developmental, cognitive, and behavioral problems that last a lifetime. The Institute for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Discovery (IFASDD) provides screening services for children at high-risk for prenatal alcohol exposure, as well as support services for families with loved ones affected by FASD. As one multidisciplinary center, IFASSD coordinates medical physicians, researchers, parent advocates and educators around alcohol-affected children.
